- Purpose as an Antidote to Burnout: Why staying actively engaged in planting seeds, helping others, and serving a higher purpose keeps enthusiasm alive well into your 70s.
- Body vs. Spirit Maintenance: How proper nutrition and physical care keep your body running, while daily spiritual nourishment prevents mental exhaustion and burnout.

Key Takeaway:
"If you're not sharing what you have and you're just living for yourself, you're probably going to have a midlife crisis. The secret is to keep planting seeds and focusing on a purpose larger than yourself." — Dr. Kent Hovind

Welcome to the Ask for the Skinny Podcast with the guest. I'm proud to present Dr. Kent. Ken, welcome to the show. It's nice to have you back. We were discussing so much about uh the Bible and the dinosaurs last time. Uh this time I would like to ask you more about how does the Bible um relate to burnout and midlife crisis? How can we get useful info from the Bible? Because the Bible is written in so many books, and uh we get lost when just checking the Bible. But what would be your suggestion? Where should we start looking if we want to solve the modern problems like burnout and midlife crisis? Because I believe nothing ever changes. So uh it's probably just something that was named differently in the past.
SPEAKER_01
Yeah, put my slides up, can you? Yeah, well, uh brother, I'll be 74 in a couple months here, and I'm not having a midlife crisis. I'm enjoying my life. The secret I found, I've been saved since I was 16 years old. The read read the Bible, memorize it, and share it with others. As long as you're sharing the seed, planting seed, you don't you don't get tired of that. I never get tired of watching other people come to Christ. Our website at drdino.com up in the upper left-hand corner there. Uh, you can go on website, you see lots of my videos we produce, we're on lots of channels, uh, Rumble and Facebook. I don't guess I understand what a midlife crisis is. I'm not having one, I'm having a blast. Uh just keep winning souls. To me, the secret is read the Bible and share it with other people. Start a ministry. If you're not teaching somebody the Bible, and if you if you're saved and you're one of God's kids and you're not sharing it with somebody, you're probably gonna have a midlife crisis. The secret I found is just keep planting seeds. You never get tired of watching them sprout and grow.
SPEAKER_00
Yeah, would you say that it's the same for the burnout? If you want to avoid the burnout, you have to do something uh about it. And uh if if you're looking for uh God and God's word, would that uh be helpful to avoid burnout? Because burnout is uh it's so common these days, and all these people are diagnosed with burnout. But is that real? Is that something that the Bible talks about?
SPEAKER_01
Uh well, you do have to live in your body, and it's it's important to take care of your body. You know, if you're driving a car, you have to learn to fill it with gas and change oil and you know, do things to maintain the car. Uh, if you do it all right, they should last a long time. Uh, I've got a car with 320,000 miles on it. Just keep driving. But if you give your body the right nutrition, the vitamins and minerals, etc., and stay away from stuff that's going to make it burn out. You know, I've never tasted alcohol, I never had any drugs. But uh the secret, if if your spirit lives in your body, which it does, keep the body healthy, but keep your keep your spirit fed also. The Bible says uh in 2 Peter chapter 3, or 1 Peter chapter 2, I mean, that desire the sincere milk of the Word. The Word is your milk, it'll keep you nourished. Or you can have the bread. When babies get big enough, they'll come off of milk and start eating bread. Okay. Jesus is the bread of life. Then the Bible talks about getting into the meat of the word. They're really, I've been reading it for 50, almost 58 years now, and I just I never I never get to the bottom of it. I read verses I've read 200 times and say, man, how did I miss that last time? We do lots of shows here on my uh on my all my channels, Rumble and Facebook, et cetera. And I do a Bible study. You can see us uh 11 times a week. We do we're Central Time in America over here or in Lower Alabama, Lenox, Alabama, right uh there, just north of Pensacola, if you want to come. Fly to Pensacola, come up 70 miles and come to our place. We have 30 cabins people stay in. Everything's free. Um, I guess the the secret I have found anyway is just keep planting seeds, keep winning souls, keep encouraging people. They put me in prison for nine years, totally unjustly. I did nothing wrong. You can watch all that on my channel. Uh, go back February 9th, 19 this year. The February 9th show I did is called Open Letter to Donald Trump, uh, where I showed what they what they they broke 100 laws to put me in prison. While I was in prison, I said, Lord, I don't want to be here. I don't like this, but half the Bible's written from prison, so show me what to do. I led Bible study four times a day uh with the men in there. I led 800 men to the Lord. I wrote 37 books uh while I was in prison. I wrote this one about why on earth did God let this happen, for heaven's sake. And I wrote this one about what on earth is about to happen, for heaven's sake, about the future. And I made the chart behind me. And I just poured myself into Bible study and God blessed. Came out of prison, had absolutely nothing. They took everything from me and started from scratch. Now we have 140 acres in Lennox, Alabama, right off I-65, right there. And uh it's amazing. So I guess I hear people talk about burnout, but I'm what I do, I I go fight, I go hard all day long. When I get tired, I go take a 20-minute nap. Then I get back up and go again. I'm enjoying my Christian life, I'm enjoying fellowship with my heavenly father. So I would encourage people to read the word, memorize the word, and share it with other people. That'd be the secret, as far as I as far as I can see. It works for me.
SPEAKER_00
Okay. Would you say that it's important to let the Lord uh do what uh he does best, or uh should we fight here and um try to figure out everything on our own? Um where is where is the the the border or the line uh between what we should do and what we should let the Lord uh do for ourselves?
SPEAKER_01
That's a tough question. I guess we're supposed to do all we can do and then let God take it from there. God told Joshua, walk around that city seven times. And then the walls fell down. God didn't need them to walk around the city seven times, but they needed to learn to just obey and follow the Lord. Okay. So after we're done, like with baby or little kids when they're learning to help mommy carry in the groceries. You know, you give them a little sack and they feel important. I carried a sack of groceries in. Uh, we don't God doesn't need us at all, but I'm glad he wants to use us, and I want to do all I can for him. Um so I guess again, I'd go back to sharing the word with other people. I give tours, we have six jeeps here. People come, we uh uh get in the jeep and go around and learn different science lessons and Bible lessons all around our camp. See, 140 acres would be what almost 70 hectaria. Uh it's a big, big property given to us. We have 17 lakes and ponds for fishing. Um I would say uh God told the children of Israel to rest one day a week. God rested on the seventh day, not because he was tired, because he was done. And he told his children, the children of Israel, rest one day a week, the Sabbath. Um I take a day off whenever I can, but I'd rather get something done for the Lord. There's a war going on. You don't always get a break during wartime. You know, you have to keep going. You know how I was in Europe over there, World War II is terrible, you know, marching across your country. You don't just take a break and say, excuse me, I need a break for a while. No, the enemy's not tired. And Satan is not tired. He's he's still going after souls, and we need to stay busy doing that, also, I think. So that'd be my advice. You read the word and share it.
SPEAKER_00
Okay. With so many content and different content creators on the internet, how should we know which one follows the gut and which one is just um there to lure us towards Satan?
SPEAKER_01
Well, when they're going to train people to spot counterfeit money, they don't show them any counterfeit money. They show them the real thing. If you learn all the details about the real thing, then it's easy to spot a counterfeit. You say, well, that ain't right. So the more you know the Bible, the more you know what the Bible teaches on different doctrines, you can quickly spot a counterfeit. Say, well, that's not true. There are hundreds of different uh denominations, you know, the Lutheran, the Methodist, the Mennonite, the Catholic, the Baptist, they all think they've got it right. All of them claim to be right. How do you know? Well, you compare it with what does what the word say? What does this book say? And you look at the what they teach and what this says. And like the, I had two Mormon missionaries come to my door one time and they said, We'd like to talk to you about the Lord. I said, Oh, whose Lord would you like to talk about? Yours or mine? They said, We serve the same Lord. I said, No, we don't. I said, Did you did you believe that your God has a body like mine? Oh, yeah. Well, my Bible says God's a spirit, and they worship him in spirit and in truth. Just that one doctrine is God a spirit or does he have a body? That would split. I can't be a Mormon because I disagree with on that one, okay? I said, Does your God live on the planet Kolob, K-O-L-O-B? They said, Yep. I said, Well, nobody's ever heard of that, but okay. Does your God have thousands of wives? Oh yeah. I don't believe that at all. They do. I said, Does your God have sex with those wives and produce spirit babies? Oh yeah. Well, and if the spirit baby up in heaven is a good spirit baby, it gets a white-skinned body when it's born. If it's a bad spirit baby, it gets a black-skinned body. Is that what you believe? They said, Well, you're not supposed to know that, but yeah, that's what we teach. I can't believe that. So I can compare what they believe compared to my Bible and say, look, this is wrong. This is right. So there's always new religions starting, okay? Rather than study all the new religions, study the true one, and then you'll be able to quickly spot a counterfeit. That's been my experience in 50, almost 58 years now.
SPEAKER_00
Thank you. This is incredible advice. Thank you. That is uh so I I really like how you compared it to the counterfeit money. That is uh incredible. And um is there anything more we can talk about uh the food and the rest that we can learn from the Bible? Uh, because people now they don't eat good food and they eat too much, and um they also um they they they just uh forget uh how important is the food. Is there anything uh we could we could share from the Bible to help people understand uh the quantity and the quality of the food that they need to enjoy?
SPEAKER_01
Oh yeah. Well, the very first chapter of the Bible, Genesis chapter 1, down in verse 21, God told Adam and Eve to eat the fruit, the vegetables, and the seeds. People don't eat the seeds anymore. We eat the apple and throw away the core, eat the peach and throw away the pit. If you eat an apricot, inside the pit, there's a nut that looks like an almond. Crack it open and eat that almond, looks like this apricot seed, and you never get cancer. Many people, the Hunza tribe in India, never get cancer. They live to be 105 years old. And their favorite food is for apricot seeds. So I think God gave the solution right there. Genesis chapter one, eat the fruit, vegetables, and seeds. If you don't put oil in your car, you're going to blow up the engine. If you don't give your body certain vitamins and minerals, something will go wrong. Now, if you run out of rate antifreeze in your car, you're going to have a problem. If you run out of oil, you're going to have a different problem. I think most diseases that man gets can be traced back to a vitamin or a mineral. If you get muscle cramps easily, ah, cramp up. Well, you're low in magnesium. Your body's trying to tell you to eat more magnesium. If you get uh infections that don't heal quickly, you're probably low in vitamin C. Uh, there's all if you have cancer, you're you're low in uh vitamin B17 found in the seeds. So the medical profession, the doctors, they don't get money when you're healthy. Okay, you got to keep in mind. Do you think the gas companies want you to get 500 miles per gallon? Uh no, they want to sell more gas. Do you think the doctors want you to be healthy? Would they want everybody to be healthy? No, they'd go out of business. Uh, so I think you gotta look at you know the the motive with some of them. Uh, I think if you learn what what your body needs, give it what it needs. But you have to be careful not to get so focused on that that you forget the real purpose. If I'm driving my car to take somebody to the hospital and I hit a mud puddle, I don't stop and wash the mud off and wax my car again. There's a bigger purpose. I'm trying to get the guy to the hospital, okay? So I think some people are so concerned about their health that they forget about their spirit. You're gonna live in this body, but you're gonna die one day. You're gonna leave it behind. So, you know, uh, I don't wash and wax my car every 20 minutes. I just don't think I've ever waxed it once. I just wash the dirt off. I want it to, I want my body to carry me through and do what God's called me to do. But some people go off on a rabbit trail if all they think about is taking care of their health. Okay. Why? What are you using your health for? So you can take care of your health? Is that the purpose? It's like a soldier on the battlefield. The purpose of your weapon is to, you know, shoot. You say, well, I don't want to get my gun dirty. I'm not gonna shoot because it might get dirty. Well, then you're useless as a soldier. Yeah, so I see people, I love taking, I love I taught biology 15 years. I've studied quite a bit about nutrition and health, and each vitamin has a deficiency symptom. If you're low in this vitamin, something goes wrong in your body. Uh but you could spend your life and and not ever accomplish anything for the Lord. So I'm in favor of what learning about health and nutrition, in favor of taking care of your body. I'm gonna be 74 in January and I'm fairly good shape. Um, but that's not it doesn't matter. What does God want you to do with your life? So I'm in favor of vitamins, minerals, nutrition, very much in favor of it, very much against drugs and medicine, many medicines of most kinds are treating a symptom, not a cause. But I I think it needs to be kept in balance. What are you really for? See, there's a whole philosophy of medicine. If you're if you took your car to the mechanic and said, listen, this my car's making a funny noise, he said, Wow, you're right. Here, put these headphones on and you won't hear it. What? I don't want you to stop the noise. I want you to stop what's causing the noise. Okay. If you have a headache and the doctor says, here, take an aspirin. Okay. What caused the headache? I don't know, but this will take it away. You're covering the symptom, not the cause. And so most medicines and drugs are to treat symptoms, not causes. So I think uh, but again, I it learn enough to make your thing run good and then get back to the real real real ministry, what's God called for you to do?
SPEAKER_00
Okay. How do we start with uh let's say we are in uh somewhere in our midlife? How do we start with our ministry? Where where where where do we go to? Where where's the right uh address? Who should we talk to?
SPEAKER_01
Where do you go? I missed one word in there. Where do you go for what for advice?
SPEAKER_00
Yeah, where should we start our ministry? What should we what is the first step? Where should we go? We feel lost.
SPEAKER_01
You start a ministry.
SPEAKER_00
Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_01
When I was uh in Texas, I asked a great famous uh preacher friend of mine, Dr. Julian Pope. I said, Dr. Pope, how do you know God's will for your life? He said, Oh, that's easy. I said, Here, tell me, I want to write this down. He said, You find a need and you fill it. What's the greatest need that you see? If you were driving down the street and you saw a house on fire and people inside screaming, help, help. So you stop your car, you get out, and you mow their grass for them. Uh look, the grass might need mowed, but that's not important right now. Get the people out of the house is important, okay? I see people go off on rabbit trails. I'm glad they're doing it, but that's not the main purpose. We're here to save people from the fire. So if you have time, so anyway, Dr. Pope said uh you find a need and you fill it. He said, What's the greatest need that you see? He said, Don't tell me. Go think about it. I went home and I prayed and I said, Lord, I think the greatest need I see is to have people to explain to children, especially, but how do dinosaurs fit in the Bible? Because Satan is using dinosaurs, God's own creatures, to turn people away from God. And I am sick of it. I think God ought to get the glory. It's very simple. God said he made everything in six days. It's in the Ten Commandments. Well, if he made everything in six days, then he made everything in six days. Dinosaurs live with Adam and Eve. But most of the people are being taught dinosaurs lived millions of years ago. Somebody's lying. So that's my ministry, Dinosaur Adventureland, drdino.com, you know, even our phone number, 855 BigDino. Um, we want to understand God made this world. He owns it. I do lots of debates. I've had 400 debates with atheists, you know. And I'll say, look, your problem is you don't want God telling you what to do. That's the problem. You you know, it's not that you don't believe in God. You know there's a God. You just don't like what his rules are. Now, if you don't, see, God made the world, he owns it, he can make the rules. If he wants to say, don't lie, don't steal, don't commit adultery, it's his world. He can make it. If you don't like his rules, go build your own planet and do what you want on your planet. But this one is his. He makes, he made it, he made the rules, and you're going to be judged by the God who made this thing. And so get ready for that judgment day. Thankfully, my sins are paid for by what Jesus did on the cross. Otherwise, I'd be in trouble judgment day. But my sins paid for. I'm one of God's kids. That's good. When you become God's child, the Bible says you get born again. That's easy. It's real simple. Receive him in your heart, you're born again. But growing takes a long time. But when you become one of God's children, God spanks his children. If you're not, if you're just one of the devil's kids, he's going to wait till judgment day for you. You can live a wicked life and go for years and years and years. Nothing happens. But then judgment day, it all catches up. If you're one of God's children and you try to do something wrong or wicked, he's likely to spank you. I think any loving parent stops their kid. Hey, don't touch that, that's hot. If the kid keeps trying to touch the stove, pretty soon you got to spank him. Sorry. I told you, don't do that. So God loves his children and he spanks us because he wants what's best for us. If you're not one of God's kids, then you're probably going to hold, God's going to wait till judgment day and give it all to you at once.
SPEAKER_00
Thank you. Thank you for all these insights. But before I let you go, please tell us where we can get in touch with you and uh where we can buy your books.
SPEAKER_01
Sure. Let me put my slides back up here. Uh right here. Our website at the top left corner, Dr. Dino, D-R-D-I-N-O. DrDino.com. Uh, our phone number, 855-BigDino. We're on all kinds of channels on Facebook and Rumble and Twitter. They're all listed on drdino.com. You can uh come see us in Lenox, Alabama, if you want to come meet up. We have a bookstore here. But uh drdino.com, our website is probably the main place to see everything or come visit us live. But uh, I produce thousands and thousands of videos on science in the Bible. I try to answer all the questions that people come up with to make the devil wants you to doubt the Bible. So he's got telling people the earth is billions of years old. And people say, What about carbon dating? Or how do we see the light from the stars? I cover every topic we can find to help say, man, the Bible is true. Evolution is the dumbest religion in the world. That's a program I do every morning at seven uh nine o'clock central time. It's titled uh Evolution is the dumbest religion in the world. Right here. It's open mic. Anybody can call in 9 o'clock central and 7 o'clock central time every night, Monday through Friday. Evolution is the dumbest and most dangerous religion in the world. It's a religion. You believe in it. Nobody's ever seen a dog produce a non-dog or a cow produce a non-cow. It's not science. They make these stupid charts and have everything related. Like, yes, boys and girls, you're related to a duck. This is dumb. Real dumb. Tell them I said so. I'll debate anybody you can find. I've had 400 debates on this topic. I'll take on anybody else. I believe evolution is the dumbest religion in the world. Prove me wrong. It's nothing but a religion. So go to drdino.com or call me 855 BigDino. I'm extension three. I get calls all day.
